Seeing that his presence in Baghdád was in danger of splitting the community, Bahá’u’lláh decided to leave the scene of the conflict for the mountains 300 kilometers to the north of Baghdád which are the domains of the Kurdish people. He took with him one attendant, Aqá ‘Abu’l-Qásim Hamadáni, who was not well- known among the Bábís, and left suddenly, informing no-one of where He was going.
